Commission staff regularly assist Kenosha Area Transit in its planning efforts, including recently initiating a new short-range transit plan for the system.
At the request of the City of Kenosha, the Southeastern Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission is conducting a transit plan to consider potential bus route changes for Kenosha Area Transit. This planning process will include a review and evaluation of existing bus services, the development of potential bus route alternatives, and public outreach. It is anticipated that public outreach will occur in spring 2025, with a report completed for the City of Kenosha's consideration in summer 2025.
Commission staff assisted the City of Kenosha in organizing a Working Group for the transit plan. The purpose of the Working Group is to guide technical staff in the development of transit service alternatives. Members of the Working Group will review draft materials, provide input to the technical team, and consider public feedback.
