Transportation

At the request of State, county, and local communities, the Commission provides data collection and transportation planning and engineering support.

Transportation Services

To promote and assist in implementing the adopted regional plan, Commission staff will provide inventory and forecast data to public and private agencies and individuals, and traffic engineering and transportation planning services to the units of government within the Region. This includes assistance to the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) and local governments for local and statewide grant and plan preparation, and facility preliminary engineering.

  • Traffic impact studies
  • Highway access plans
  • Short-range and long-range highway corridor or community plans
  • Facility location optimization studies
  • Parking studies
  • Inventory work including, but not limited to:
    • Assessment of roadway pavement condition
    • Motorized and non-motorized traffic counts
  • Traffic forecasting
